That's the first time I've ever seen an assay sticker attached to a poured silver bar! What a great find!

Very cool purchase - lately I've been wanting to stack the 100 oz bars after recently getting my first!

All right, with apologies to jokingjoker, Silverhawk74 and anybody else with OCD, and in deference to everybody else, I've decided to leave the sticker on. As I said, it gives the bar character.
I thought of trying to flip it for a quick profit to cash in on its collectibility as an old bar, but the potential profit margin just seems too slim to make it worth the effort. If I could get, say, $3500-4000 for it in its current condition, maybe. But seeing as how silver has gone up about $1/ounce since I bought it last week, trying to sell it for "only" $3200 wouldn't give me much profit after I paid all the fees and then went out and bought another 100 ounce bar to replace this one.
Besides, if its rarity gives it a collector's premium now, presumably it will still have a collector's premium (maybe even a bigger one) if I hold onto it and sell it years down the line.

I would stick it on ebay for an outrageous price, say $5500. All you need is one collector out there dying to have this particular bar, and who knows, you might get a good enough return for another bar and a half.

Then again, maybe not: Recent Auction on eBay11 bids and a final price of $2,980.00. Maybe my torn label would add a bit, but probably not that much...

Great pickup as usual barry. If that was my bar I would throw it up on ebay with a BIN and best offer, with a healthy premium of course. If it sells great, if it doesn't it only cost you $.20 to list for 30 days. Plus you get an idea of what kind of demand there is for it.

Barry you would be surprised what that label add's towards its value. As a JM collector myself there is a larger premium to these labelled bars. It's like the 20oz JM bars there are some that will command a small premium and some that command a large premium. Shoot me a pm I'll send you a picture of my labelled 100oz JM bar UNited states bullion and some varieties.

No I was way wrong, I just said peel it because it was in the process of coming off....
Seeing as how it gives it so much more value, one would be a fool to remove it....
I still would be itchin too peel it, lol....
Its like a thumb print, where else you gonna see one just like that bar, NO WHERE....

I agree as well never hurts to list something for way high and see if you get any takers, it happens from time to time on special items like that.... I can list 50 items for free every month no charge with zoom being a power seller and fluctuating top rated seller rof ....

I dunno, Barry. You keep buying things that they go up in price and your status as official canary-in-the-coal-mine will be well and truly over. I mean, we other buyers out here have come to depend on you for a while now but your recent reliability is in serious question!
