zworg2 New Member United Kingdom 14 Posts	Posted 08/10/2012 12:35 pm Hi, I can find no reference to it anywhere, but please can someone tell me if the following is legal tender? http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-DORIS-...300759526106 I suspect it isn't, despite what the seller has put, but know that countries do occasionally produce special commerative notes that are legal. The ones like this that I have seen up close are regular Washington portrait dollar bills with a peel off portrait of Marylin / Santa/ Bill Clinton / whomever pasted over George's picture. allranger Pillar of the Community United States 1391 Posts	Posted 08/10/2012 1:00 pm Somebody probably took a legal tender 1 dollar bill and then printed over it or added a sticker. You see that a lot with the State Quarters or Kennedy halves. It wasn't produced officially the way it is. Could you use it as money? Probably, as most people don't pay that close attention. This one in this auction actually has a different picture of Dorris Day on it http://www.ebay.com/itm/Doris-Day-D...em20be095d05, These things are probably still being made today with just about any celebrity you could think of pasted over GW's face.
