Well...I know it's not just dirt I'm seeing. That's why I'm here to ask these silly questions.

Still doesn't answer the question. Is it that bit of metal on the 9?

Could be a die chip or it could have been sheared off post mint. Too hard to tell without seeing it in hand.

kbTexas79 ask all the questions you want to, that's how we all learn. Please describe what you see as an error.

I see metal yes, but also see something as well behind the lower part of the 9 and well.... Perhaps there isn't anything and I'm looking too hard. Just a dirty ole coin with a die chip.

For future reference it is best to describe what you think is an error or variety. That way we know what to look at. Its also good to post a photo of the entire coin as well as the area in question. It looks like you take good pictures which is very important.

As for the coin....Im gonna go with a die chip.

Without being able to read minds I see a completely normal coin.

kbTexas79, tried to e-mail you but you have it blocked. Here is an idea. First off I do not recommend cleaning any coin but for an experiment try using a very soft old used toothbrush and mild hand soap on this coin. You already have a very nice pic of the date before cleaning it and if you would post a pic after cleaning it with the same magnification and alignment it would be cool to see the comparison. I am not telling you to clean the coin, it is just an idea and your decision.
