Just received a dateless Shield nickel (no rays) off of ebay and I was wondering if it works as well as it does on buffalos.

I would imagine it would, same basically metal composition. its just more prevalent with buffalos due to the ease they wear away

Their PCB is not the stuff at the bottom of the Hudson River (polychlorinated biphenyl), it just stands for printed circuit board. =)

Just finished applying the acid. It revealed 186-

I suppose that last digit was just too far gone. At least I know it's nothing valuable though.
