Worth putting in a 2x2 and keeping? Looks way better than I normally see.

I would say no, but I'm sure I have plenty if stuff that others would not keep. It all comes down to personal preference.

I'd keep it. The reverse looks ....interesting. The west side of the eagle's body -- around the hip -- looks a little odd. Maybe it's just the lighting. I'm no expert-- it just caught my eye.

Looks like someone was thinking the same as you, but recently decided to let it go. Definitely not 16 years of circulation.

Why not? If you like, just put it away.

It's worth at least $0.25 and a 2x2 could cost you $0.03, approximately. So if you could afford to put away $0.28 cents for about 200 years, I suggest keeping it. Photo makes the D Mint Mark appear to be sort of a machine doubled.

Looks like a good one for the folder or album. Way better than a empty hole looking back at you.

Keep it. Worst case scenario is twenty years from now you wish you would have had an extra 25 cents to spend over the years.

If I may ... People laughed when a few folks put away dimes and quarters and halves dated 1965. "Junk," they said; "No silver!" Well, as I recall, turned out that since so FEW people saved them the high grade junk of 1965 turned out to be scarce. And worth a premium. I NEVER laugh, nor taunt, a collector from a course of action. And for 28 cents, well, NO HARM DONE!

I agree it is a keeper. I save many different high grade coins I find in circulation. I keep the best examples for my own collection and often find other who are looking to upgrade their sets and are happy to trade you for your high grade finds.
remember what might be junk to one person is an upgrade to someone else.

Just think that in 20 years you would be spending a lot of money to buy that same coin. AND saying to yourself, I shoulda, coulda, woulda but just didn't think.
