So, there have been a ton of forums on coin storage, but I have a odd question. What is the best way to store your supplies for coin storage. Right now, I have a rubbermaid 3 drawer plastic dresser thing. What I would like to find is some sort of haulable tote or tacklebox type storage container for my 2x2s, markers, stapler, data log books, etc that has a good amount of room and dividers. Any one know of a model of rubbermade tote or something similar that would house all of a typical coin collector? I often find myself working on coins in different rooms of the house and would like my supplies to be more mobile than they are now. THanks for the help.

How about a big fishing tackle box? They make them w/ drawers and storage trays & compartments. I would think a large one would be big enough for all your stuff.

i have looked for tackleboxes such as this... they do not house unfolded 2x2s very well. they do not tend to be deep enough.

I was just thinking that aybe someone's wife does some kind of crafts or scrapbooking and has a storage container that would work perfectly. I have looked at even buying a large plastic tote and filling it with smaller plastic containers (like the ziploc containers) but found that it could get pricey doing this. I wanted to just find one large container that would work.

Possibly what your now using should be sufficient. There is that old thing about the more room you have, the more things you put in there. Ever see a garage the day someone moves in to a house. Empty. Then a week later, half full. One year later and hardly room for the car.
Same is true of a box or anything you use for coin material. You should stick with what you now have or you'll just end up with enough items to open your own store.

its not a need of more space, it is just that the plastic dresser is not portable to other rooms. it is about 3 feet tall. I was just looking for a tote to put the supplies in so that they stay organized and not just all jumbled up in a drawer.

Just get an ammo can like this. It's cheap, seals out moisture, and you can carry around.

Or get one of those cases women use for plane travel. I've seen those used for court reporters that need to travel with those machines. Looks like a small suitcase with wheels and a handle. Possibly at any store that sells suitcasses.

I found a portable file holder that is about 1 foot by 2 foot. I think it is a start to what I was looking for.
