Hello everybody,Ijust join today and trying to learn more about coins.I found a coin at a garage sale and I don't know much about coins.Can someone tell me something about it please?It's a 1985,1/4 troy oz,Engelhard Prospect.

I honestly cant tell what it is from the picture but from the description it sounds like its a quarter ounce silver bullion coin

The 2x2 it is in says .10 Are you sure it is 1/4 oz and not 1/10 oz?

You are right Hawkeye,it's 1/10.the other coin I have is 1/4.Any idea on the value?

hard to tell from your picture, but if its 1/10 gold, the melt/spot value is about $167

1/10 silver melt/spot value is about $3. Can you get a clearer and closer picture?

Fuzzy's calculation of melt value. However, 1985 was the only year Englehard made fractional silver and these sell for a good premium....
