today when I was making my usual stops my my pickup banks for coin I notice that all the tellers seem to be very annoyed by my presence. but I think nothing of it so I walk along and wait in line to pick up some coin when I get to the counter and ask the teller for the usual amount of coins a get she leaves for a moment and comes back empty handed and tells me that they have no coins what so ever I had cleared them out yesterday. so I go to another bank and another and 5 more after that each with the same response that I had cleared them of all there coins the day before or yesterday.
and I turns out that all the banks within a 7 kilometer radius of me has been cleared out of coin so it looks like I am stuck with out any coins to look though.
so my question to you my fellow roll hunters is has this ever happened to you?

Simply put, not only are you cleaning them out, you've become a nuisance. I make the rounds maybe once or twice a month. Try ordering boxes, enough to keep you busy searching and dumping.

Try calling banks you are a member of and ordering coins ahead of time. I order boxes of cents a week or so in advance from my bank and have had no problems.

Yeah sounds like you've worn out your welcome. Courtesy goes a long ways and getting box after box just ruins it for everybody.

Try a wider range of banks, as well. I have a circuit that I travel to avoid hitting up the same bank for rolls too many times. I buy a few boxes every week, but buy only one per bank per visit. I visit enough banks on my rounds that I return to the same bank again maybe once every 5 or 6 weeks. And since odds are good that I may get a diferent teller the 2nd time around, I find that my visit is always a pleasant experience.

I don't know if you can do this, but I have the luxury of having access to over 250 banks within 20 miles of home. Even if I could look through ten times the amount I do now I wouldn't visit any one branch more than once every couple of weeks.

That actually happened to me for the first time this week too. I went in to get a box of pennies. ( I only go to this branch once a week and for 1 box ) and the teller came back empty handed, said that a business person had just taken away 3 boxes and all they had was 1 box and a few rolls left in the bank. Walked out with nothing. Sadness.
