I have a dozen of those. They originally come with a card that goes over the ridiculous so-called Lincoln Kennedy coincidences.
It's simply counterstamped with no additional numismatic value.

These have been around since mid 1964, and quite collectable when they first appeared... Back then as a tween, I was to young too know it was a damaged coin...

I've gone through about 20 boxes of cents to date and have yet to come across one of those, but I think they're pretty fun. I will definitely keep if I find.

I love these! I have one Kennedy like this one, and one with a little Louisanna state with the initials LA in it, both from roll hunting. Great find! As for value... Its not worth a bundle, but I know there are people who would pay you more than a cent for it.

fake as in, not stamped by the mint.. (obviously) but definitely cool! id pay at least 50 cents for that! and I'm sure its worth saving, because that cent seems to be worth some value

I found a 1973 cent with the same Kennedy head stamped on it inside a roll a few years ago. I kept it because it was different.

Last year I gave away one of these to a young collector who also had a keen interest in history. His dad approved. (I had found it in circulation.) When these first came out, circa 1964 as has been said, it was attached to a small strip of cardboard. "Amazing coincidence? - Lincoln and Kennedy," it said. The "facts" written on it were trivial, but anything connected to Kennedy was sought out and kept. Purely a marketing ploy, but one must remember that the nation was shocked by the assassination of JFK and EVERYONE was looking, buying and saving the Kennedy halves as well. Today, the result has been that it is very easy to find these halves in high grades, and for not much more than bullion prices. I also remember that a set of pennies, each stamped with the shape of a state, was made several years later. The things that people do to coins!
