I was poking through what I thought was a back of cull Mercury dimes and came across this. This is the roughest coin I've found yet. But what to do with it?

If your asking for a grade, it borders on PO1 & FR2 in my opinion.

Sadly, this Seated dime is so worn out, it might be tough to even get silver value for it.

If you're going to level a table, just send it to me... I will trade you a piece of wood for your dime, straight up.

Now, if a coin in this condition turned out to be rare (this one isn't...I'm thinking its an 1883), what would a collector do with it. I guess the question is are there coins out there in condition like this that the community would consider collectable?

If it was mine it would get added to the junk silver hoard. One day headed to the coin shop to be sold.

Check out my avatar, Tjmcman.

There are people out there who actively collect very-worn coins. I would be very happy to have something like that in my collection, although it would drive me to start collecting worn issues besides Morgans, to the detriment of my wallet.
