Three shiny 2014 Canadian quarters and one 1968 silver (I checked) dime!

What country was the dime from?
Rest in Peace

Ha! That's a good find 999fine. Those coins that are stuck together make me laugh. I think they were in a cup holder and some coffee or soda was spilled.

I don't normally check the machines, but I decided to this weekend. Found 2 1943 steel cents in the reject tray. No pics as I already put them into my stash. They didn't have any rust on them either.

Surely this one was once used by David, Derek, or Nigel.

Egads! What a disturbing sight!

I was passing my local grocery's CoinStar and it was in use. I was taking care of other business and watching, it turns out it was a Service Desk lady dumping store coins. There were a few rejects that she returned to the sorting bin a couple times then when she was done she looked at the (presumably) same rejected coins as they cycled through again and tossed them into a trash can next to the machine.

Oh, the humanity!

I was too far away to see what they were, I hope they were corroded Zincolns. I wasn't about to go digging through a trash can for them however...

Now the above brings up a question: Does CoinStar have an arrangement with machine hosts to count their coins for free? I would presume so, especially since the lady put the receipt in the cash drawer.

If somebody has the same coins going through on repeat, offer to buy them. Often, they will just give them to you.

That's a nice score!

Over the last few weeks, I've found several dimes and cents on the ground but nothing whatsoever at Coinstars.

I found these at the local machine today:

1 '99 Connecticut quarter, and 1 Icelandic 2008 Krouner, for a moment I thought the Krouner was something Canadian because of the wildlife design, very neat!

The temptation is strong, but not that strong.
