I now have a network of non-collectors keeping an eye out when they go by the CoinStar machines in my area. They bring me the world coins. Today, one of them brought me a 1995 German 10 Pfennig and a 1944 Canadian Dime. They are also racking up on free US money. I think they're hooked.

Last month I was visiting friends in Los Angeles and stopped by a busy grocery store near my old work and spent less than $5 on a snack. On my way out I noticed a handful of change in the coinstar machine and I grabbed it on my way out the door. There was about $3 in US change, $1 Canadian and a 1959 D silver quarter, and a 1959 D silver dime in the mix. Overall I think I walked out with more money than I spent, and 2 new pieces of silver.

Today I found this 1963 dime and a 2012 English coin. There is still some mint lustre on the dime!

Stopped by the grocery store today, checked the return tray and nothing but as I was leaving I noticed something half way under the machine. IT was an old Mercury dime pretty heavily worn so the date wasn't visible but the rest was! first silver I've found at a coinstar.. good way to keep my hopes up!

I got a clad dime and two LMCs today. Nothing special, but perfectly spendable.

Been on a horrendous dry spell. My local shops seem to be feast or famine and lately I have been starving. It has been almost 2 months since I pulled anything.
Ever the optimist I assume I am leading up to the ultimate haul of a lifetime...
