It's been a while since I've seen anything at the local Coinstars.

Walked by Coinstar the other day saw a pile of change in there.I could tell it was silver. Reached in pulled all of these plus 2 pennies and a nickle. My best silver haul ever. Could not beleive my eyes.

I've met people who were asked to bid on these " REJECTED COINS ", They were talking about the weight that a Tractor Trailer flat bed was required to remove the coins, Pallets Filled with coins, Foreign, Gold, Silver have all been found, Big riggs were needed, after turning down the bid, Not long after, they were contacted and They were told, Come Take Them All...... The costs of handling, trucking, were High. These machines are serviced by Coin Handlers and They are a Business, Get rid of the Garbage. $$$$$$ Full time crew with good willing eyes to sort through or I saw a POST Today, Here on CFF about a coin sorting Idea/Machine, Just the Test !!!!

Stopped at the bank to cash a check. Teller ask if I was interested in some halves. she had 4 rolls I took them all. Found a 1967 ender while driving out of town. Called the bank ask if they had other rolls from the person that deposited the halves? Also got 4 rolls of quarters, 4 rolls of dimes 3 nickels, and 5 dime rolls. Total keepers, 1-1967 half, 4-1964 half, 4 1964 quarters, 4 1964 dimes, 23 pre 1959 pennies. Nothing needed in the nickel rolls. Total $62.00 worth of silver. Webekin

Found this post yesterday, just got to know that it's interesting to check coinstar reject tray.So today I went for my 1st checking trip to the nearby coinstar and then found a huge load of coins in the reject tray there. No silver coins found, but there's at least 200+ coins, about $30+ face value. Found 1 Wheat penny.
I am so surprised for the finds. Could coinstar machine overflow?

Got these today, although some are from my change from what I bought. The most exciting thing that I got was a 1954 D silver dime! My first silver from coinstar!

My first Coinstar silver - a 1946 Roosevelt!
Went to the grocery, and checked the reject bin - nada. Went about my shopping, but lollygagged a bit too much. As I was checking out, there was an old fellow with a large Folgers tub who had been dumping coins in. He kept pulling everything from the reject bin and feeding it back through. Finished checking out and hurried over - he had two coins left. This '46 Roosevelt dime and a squashed Jefferson nickel. I offered him a dollar for the dime and he gladly accepted (the only other cash I had was a $20). He told me he had run $176 of change through the machine. I just wonder what I missed out on.
