Today's find was a Mexico 50 centavos coin and 1/3 of a Standing Liberty half dollar.

I found my first wild steel penny today! It was at one of my bank's coin counters, and after picking it up, saw the wheat reverse. I took a closer look when I got home, and sure enough, it's a 1943! The reverse looks pretty good, but the obverse is completely corroded, not sure how that could've happened.

At least you are finding something. The only thing my Coinstar reject slot has is a thin layer of dust.

Over the past several weeks, I've found a 1916 Mercury dime and a 1929 Mercury dime, both one week apart from each other exactly (November 10th was the 1929 Mercury dime, my grandmother's 98th birthday, she passed in 2010 and I had just gotten back from laying flowers at her grave) and then the 17th I found a 1916 at the same coin star. However, these were not found IN the coin star. They were found in the trash NEXT to the coin star!

So someone got their rejects from the tray and threw them in the trash?
Good job rescuing these two. So far my coinstar finds lately have been dusty like Jbuck.

I was at a Fred Meyer the other day waiting for this woman to finish with the coinstar. I swear there were a few silvers in there, but she scooped them all into a plastic bag before she left.
