Checking under the machine is a good idea. I stopped caring, and have found a steel cent, wheaties, silver, and foreign. bunch of clad and zinc.
In the reject slot today I got a 2002 canadian nickel.

Always did, but definitely will from now on because this past April I dug out $11 face of silver US quarters from under the machine. After that it is now standard operating procedure. I haven't found anything in the Coinstar machines by me lately. The only thing worth noting is an average Canadian dime that was under my bank's coin counter today.

WOW! I have found some great stuff under the machine, but never anything like that. That is amazing. Does the SLQ have a date?

Holy crap, mendelman! That is awesome! Do you have a list of them by date and MM? I wish I had that variety. It seems all of the silver Dimes and Quarters I find are 64s.

I think I'm gonna start bringing a ruler with me every time I go to the grocery store, since there was nothing in the reject slot as usual, but there was a LOT of coins under the machine I couldn't reach.

I've just found a 2008 Cyprus 2 euro cent coin in the reject tray of my local Coinstar in England!

After several weeks of nada, the Coinstar machine at my supermarket yielded two clad, a dime and a quarter. They were both so worn that I wondered what could have happened to them..

My best was the day before yesterday. $62 in clad quarters, about $6 in Canadian clad, two silver Roosevelt dimes, a silver Washington quarter,a silver Canadian dime, 19 steel wheat cents, one super corroded Wheat cent, and a very corroded Flying Eagle cent. The tray was filled all the way back inside the machine. By far the best for me. Other than that I've found a few silver dimes and a little clad before. |
