The bankers open up the machine for me to look in and get some stuff out of the rejects that collect in there and other stuff. Found at least $3 worth of spare coons, some Canadians, and a quarter that somebody hammered, therefore the edge is larger than it should be.

By the way... I honestly don't know if this counts for this thread, but my dad found a nice AU 1951 D silver quarter... Someone on the bus tried paying part of their fare with it, but the machine rejected the coin! (He's a bus driver)
I've always wanted to hack a coin star and add a super speed weighing system. Dump in coins, and it immediately sorts between silver and clad.

Although that quarter find would be better suited for the 'interesting find from circulation' thread, it is still a good one.

Maybe, but I like the sense of it being mechanically rejected. After all, there have been several vending machine finds posted in the past.

Oh, I suppose you're right. I didn't consider the fact that the machine rejected it.

I've only ever found a pile of pennies along with a dime and a communist Chinese copper coin in a coinstar (canada)

Skibdib/Santfeboy - I still can't believe it and thought the same thing. What in the world is a 1800's Great Britain coin doing in a Michigan Coinstar 145 years later.

Wow, nice Coinstar find! However it managed to make its way over here, I suppose it was for the best.
