Getting back into collecting after 10 years or so. I read someones mention of "pocket piece" the other day and really liked the idea. So I stopped in a nearby shop today to look over some "junk" silver. I chose one of my favotites-a Walking Liberty halve. First of all I really hate the term "junk silver". An old spoon may be made from "junk silver" but NOT Walkers or Mercs or Morgans or Standing Libertys! The list goes on. For now this will be my pocket piece and along with my wallet and keys and Spyderco and sometimes Airweight, it will leave the house with me!

Pocket pieces are oddly fun! I have three ikes that I got some rust off and now look nice with their character. I carry them around everywhere! I fiddle with them when bored, and people who see them usually ask about them and it strikes up a conversation.
It also helps to show tellers because they look to the Presidential dollar coins when I ask for them!

Nice coin there. I have a '78 Ike and an '87 Kennedy half dollar in my pocket today, I like the sound of them together.
