The wolf-turtle-turkey design would be sweet!

The wolf-turtle-turkey design would look cool if they could pull it off, but I kind of like the "two feather" version.

The turtle kind of ruins the wolf turkey for me. The feather one is pretty cool. The Turtle ones just make me laugh for some reason

I'm not crazy about any of them. I would hope we could find contributions of Native Americans beyond treaties that they've signed.

You mean beyond the treaties we broke with the indians. All but one if memory serves. Not sure what major contributions could be honored. Regardless, all those designs are acceptable I think, with the turkey/wolf/turtle being the best.

Of the designs to make the final round, the two feathers design was my second choice, but with the quill and the parchment it just reminded me of the 1987 Constitution commemorative set too much.

Also, I don't recall any US coins with a turkey on it, so as a turkey hunter it gets my vote. On a side note, I once read that Benjamin Franklin wanted the wild turkey to be our national symbol instead of the bald eagle.

I also like the two feather one as well. Not sure what they are trying to show with the other ones.

I'm still confused about the inclusion of the turtle into the coin design and what the turtle is supposed to represent.

However I like the wolf/turtle imagery but I feel that the two feather design would be the easiest design for the mass production of coins. I think that that concept has to be taken into consideration when making coins. Otherwise we will have a lot of error coins being put into circulation by the mint.

Wolf/turkey - definitely my choice. I'd like to see a famous Indian series.

Actually, the Wolf, Turkey, and Turtle have meaning in that design.

They're all associated with Totem, which can be the symbol of the tribe, clan, family, or individual. Native American tradition provides that each individual is connected with 9 different animals, that will accompany each person through life as their guide.

The beliefs are that the totem animal is with you for life both in physical and spiritual world.

The Turkey represents generosity, life-giver and sharer.

The Turtle represents nurturer, both shy and protecting.

The Wolf represents loyalty, perseverance, success, intuition, and spirit.

This Native American dollar commemorates the treaty with the Delaware Tribe. Here is a link to the Seal of the Delaware Tribe.

Quote:
Clan Symbols: These represent the three clans of the Lenape: Turtle, Wolf and Turkey. There is also a Christian cross to represent those Lenape who accepted Christianity.

This is why I consider design 10 the most representative of the tribe itself, but good luck getting a Christian cross on a US coin.

Yea theres about a 0 percent chance of that. If it were to happen a dollar like this might be obscure enough to the public eye for it to happen. Most collectors would appreciate what it was supposed to be representing in the design and not try and cause ww3 over it like the general public would imo
