...on the TPG section with little response but: We are all familiar with the 3 or 4 best grading companies... To get more in-depth... knowing that many people on this site have specific interests in certain coins (ie. Capped Bust half dollars, Morgan dollars, Wheat cents, ASE, etc., etc.), which company have you had the best luck grading your particular specialty; including varieties. Please tell your ‘type' and which TPG does the best job grading them.(I think this could benefit us all!) Thanks!

For Liberty Seated and Bust coin varieties/errors, I prefer SEGS; this, ala Larry Briggs. More bang for the buck. I also like SEGS for attributing colonial coin varieties.

I like NGC and PCGS both, ANACs third. Some people drink the kool aid and say PCGS is the best and blah blah, I say both are good and both make mistakes. My collection is mixed with NGC, PCGS, and some ANACs.

I haven't sent anything it to any of the TPGs but I tend to agree with NGC when it comes to colonials and store cards. Especially with Colonials.

I have always been happy with the job NGC does.

Thanks for the responses! I have a capped bust half, a few Morgans and Peace dollars that I am considering sending in, so thought I would see which company graded specific coins most fairly. I personally prefer NGC, but mainly because I like the holder. Though its hard going against the market and sale prices. As a new collecter I don't know the history, is there any fluctuation as to which company is more vogue at the time?

ANACS every time and never PCGS or NGC. I refuse to pay at least twice as much to get the same results. I have not sent a single coin to ANACS that I have been unhappy with.

For varieties, I seem to see ANACS being the most dead on. I could be wrong... Trust me, it happens

All I can say for sure is that John Roberts at ANACS is awesome at VAM attribution.

Here we are three years later, and I still wonder how people will answer this question.
Any new opinions?

I try to stick to the big two, which seems to be the best bet for resale a well. For paper money, I much prefer PMG (NGC) to PCGS.

I stick to ANACS when submitting, because I live 8 miles from their headquarters, and it costs me no more than $7.50 a coin to holder, and for buying, I only do PCGS for set registry reasons. My favorite are Morgan dollars (not by VAM).

I do submit coins on behalf of others though. I must charge more than $7.50 because of shipping.

I'm going to get in on that ANACS deal the next time I'm in Colorado. I mentioned it to a friend there and was told there's a great sushi restaurant near Englewood. (Although I'm not sure where to submit coins. Two different addresses/cities listed for ANACS.)
Have you shared your PCGS registry? I see all these posts of your latest acquisitions.
