Someday in the future you might end up saying "Nuts, why did I sell those?" I know how you feel about Mercury dimes. I've got well over 3,000 of them. After I had all of them , then I would start upgrading. BUT - that's just how I like to collect. Some people like nicer coins at first b/c they don't mind the holes in the album as long as the pieces they have are fantastic condition. A few years ago, I sold some Barber halves to buy a 1916-d in AG-G. I didn't collect the halves so they were expendable. I still think about it sometimes, but I am happy that I made the purchase. I still hope to upgrade the 1916-d someday if finances permit. Definitely get the key dates first in the best grade you can afford. Report this Post to the Staff
