AU details, about $40 to $50 raw.
You don't want to know what that would fetch undamaged.
I still think you could get around $45 for it in this shape because of the strong strike.
AU details graded coins come in at $100, but with those scratches I just don't see them grading, though I would love to be proved wrong.

AU Details with severe damage and appears to be improperly cleaned too.
I agree with jmkendall that $40 to $50 retail sounds fair. No way a dealer would pay that much for it though. You'd be lucky to get a $20 bill from most dealers on that one.

What a shame. Great strike, I agree would be worth quite a bit if it wasn't damaged. Beautiful looking on the reverse...

VF details, looks cleaned too. Reverse looks much more worn than the obverse. Obverse does have a nice strike. Too bad for the damage.I would say worth about $30-$40 dollars.

AU Details. What a shame. I agree on a FMV of around $50 at this point. Weakly struck reverse.

I would go with AU details, bad cleaning and clear damage. The problem is, this is the kinda coin that almost nobody wants. If posted on ebay I think you would get some variance in realized prices. If you get two people, who are in the minority of collectors who would pay for this, in a bidding war...I could see it going for $90. I could also see everybody passing on it and somebody who just threw a low ball at it wins it for $20. I'm actually most offended by the scratches behind the eagle. I feel like the big scratch is damage, so be it...the cleaning is bad, so be it, but I always hate it when a coin just really looks like somebody purposefully messed with it. I'd have no interest in this piece at any price despite its details grade. I'm sorry to say, but I feel like honesty is the best approach.

AU details it is. That is almost making me cry. That was a beautiful coin before some sadist got a hold of it. As much as I love FEs, I wouldnt pay more than 15 bucks for it. Its just too damaged.

It had fantastic bones but, sadly, it's pretty much worthless now. I wonder why someone would do such a thing ?

I'd still throw it out on ebay, you'll do better there than anywhere else with a coin in that condition.
