Just found a 2 Dollar Bill made 2009. Are they still making these? Are they made for circulation? If they are still making them do have them for every year.

Yes they still make two dollar bills. I ask for them all the time at my bank. They're fun to spend. They do make them every year but the 2009 on your note isn't the year of the note. The word series is above the 2009 because 2009 is the year the plate was made to print the note. I believe this is still the current series for notes being printed this year.

I love $2 bills! Once a week I go to my bank and ask them if they have any and, if they do, I typically buy $20-40 worth. Sometimes I get brand new crisp 2009s, sometimes worn 1976s, once I got a decent looking 1963 "red seal," etc. Once I actually ordered a stack of 100 and got a strap of crisp uncirculated 2003s with birthday serial numbers for April 23 1901 - April 23, 2000 (04231900 - 04232000), some of which I've managed to resell for $10-20 apiece. Anything unusual I keep, but I mostly get them for the joy of spending them. I have no idea why they still print them if they are not in wide circulation (I guess the same thing could be asked about the Kennedy half dollar), but I love the look of surprise and joy on people's faces when they think I've given them something rare and valuable.

I stopped by local banks months ago to get dollar coins, and got the $2 they had. I have some set aside for my collection, others I have ready to spend if I run-out of small dollar coins between boxes.

The main reason I'd like to see them stop printing is so my hoard of 2's goes up in value.....get them every week from my local bank....if they order bills you get a strap of circulated ones....I'd love a strap of unc '09's.....

Thanks for all the help. So by looking at the web site for paper money there are the 2003 2003A and then the 2009 so no other dates in between. So I can make the proper amount of spaces in my book for future finds

I used to get $2.00 bills from my bank when my daughter had her baby teeth and would leave her a couple of them when one fell out. She was excited to see something she doesn't usually see and it was fun for me as well

they made one in 1976 that had the different Reverse. It had the signing of the Declaration of Independence on the Back of the 1976 series to commemorate the Bicentennial year of the country. They have not stopped printing the $2.00 every year as far as I know but the series number will not change unless there is some type of design change or signature change

As far as I know....2003a.....now 2009. Ya gotta love them. When else can you spend a bill and have such fun ? Most young people have never seen them..Think they're rare! They're amazed when you tell them that they were first printed around 1862!!

1862?! Try 1775! Continental Currency two dollar bill: http://www.coins.nd.edu/ColCurrency...5-$2.obv.jpgThe obverse image, like all the denominations, was chosen by Benjamin Franklin. For the $2, he picked a flail threshing grain, with the motto TRIBULATIO DITAT ("Affliction improves it"). According to Franklin, "Threshing often improves those who are threshed. Many an unwarlike nation have been beaten into heroes by troublesome warlike neighbours..."

This might help with what years/series were printed for $2.00 notes. Here is my list, that shows the small size two dollar notes I selected for my collection. It is a picture of a older list, I have more notes now and added the 2009 Rios/Geithner note to my list. The left side of my list shows all the different series for small size $2.00 bills for United states notes (USN) and Federal reserve notes (FRN) that have been released since 1928, of course add the 2009 to list.

And rumor has it, the 2009 series $2 bill print run was only printed to last until 2014, and since the current "NexGen" Series 2009 (and some rumored to be Series 2009A) $100 bill is supposed to be released rhis year, in 2014, they may end up starting a "Series 2014" redesigned $2 bill print run, since the American Council of the Blind fought and won, to get every denomination, except the $1 bill redesigned for features for the visually impaired, and I have been informed by a few BEP workers that the $2 bill will be among this "Meaningful Access" redesign, and I am really wondering what is being planned for these new $2 bills, design-wise. I can't wait to see them, and maybe since the new $100 bill is being released this year, and the MexGen redesign started with the $20 bill in 2003, that would make it 10 years that the NexGen redesign has been going on up to 2013, so maybe later on this year, we will see an unveiled $2 bill or another denomination for a 2014 release.
