I have decided to put togeather a "high grade" set of War Nickles. And have decided I am going to be pickey with Steps, Luster, etc.I was at my coin store saturday and asked if he had any War Nickels. He said sure and got the bin of very circulated coins. I said oh sorry do you have any in uncirculated grade. ( I have gotton to know this guy well over the years) He said "well we just bought a nickel collection last week you wiwll be the first one to look at it I will get it." then out comes a old style breif case packed with Nickles. Perfectly organized. He then got out all the War Nickels for me, all in MS grade. I asked who this guy was? He said a doctor that is going into a retirement home and had to get rid of them. he collected them all his life. he let me pick what I wanted. Below are the ones I purchased for $12 per coin. These things are Gem Perfect. Really nice. One question. there was a 1943 p "double eye" very apparent. he said $20. I did not take it but now I think I should go back and get it.? what are your thoughts? Here they are...

You don't often see that kind of luster and quality on War Nickels. That was a great buy, congratulations!

If they are indeed Full Step War Nickels, they command quite a premium. Nice Jeffersons!

I went back today and picked up teh 1943P Double Eye for $20. funny story, I asked if I could look through the breif case of nickels again so he got it out. I went through all the War Nickels, I found 2 more to buy, but did not find the double eye. I asked him about it and he said "Oh this one"? He had set is aside. I said yea you still good for $20 on that coin? He said yea is that what I told you? I said yes and he said Ok! I would grade it about a MS55 No steps.

I think you got a great deal on those gorgeous coins. I love unc War Nickels. I have a couple sets of them. They are really beautiful in uncirculated condition. And if any truly are full steps then you got a steal.
