Just saying. The mint has quality control down to a science, or so it seems. Machine Doubling shows its face from time to time. But outside of that, there isn't much to see here. More on, err move into the past?

Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems the WAM's of 98' through 00' are the last items of significant interest. Of course there will always be things like the 2009 UHR gold coins and what-not. I still kick myself for not buying one when I could have... But that is the way of these things.

I'm kind of just waiting for that next BIG thing. I find myself looking at the new cents with critical eyes hoping to find something unusual. But so far, I haven't seen anything. Maybe a slight MD here, or there. But nothing I ever find interesting enough to keep. I've found a plating error once that I kept because it was clearly not an acid job...but yet. Not anything that is a CLEAR and particular significant variation.

2011 was a great year for doubled dies, and a bunch of cool 2009 doubled die reverses, mainly the formative years, but also the other reverse designs.

Not a heck of a lot on varieties lately.
Maybe a few errors etc. or a mule now and then.
Good idea to keep an eye out for any transitional though.
Never know ?

There was rumor of a 1996 WAM...I dont know if you all know about that fiasco...but I check all my coins. If you are going to check them anyways you might as well check for them.

2011 has a very very nice Obverse Doubled Die. 2011 also has a nice reverse doubled die.

2011 Obverse http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=mds

2006 has a significant doubled die obverse. http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=eds

2004 has several nice doubled dies. One is a DDO / DDR on the same coin. Denver also has a nice DDR.

Plus there DDs in almost all the years. The above I mentioned are all over $100 is you are hunting for profit.

2007 Sac with lettered edge, 2007 proof Jefferson dollar with edge dies out of sequence, plain edge president dollars 2007 to date, 2009 president dollar with edge of 2008, 2008 W ASE with rev of 2007. There may be others.

There's HUNDREDS of die varieties in the last decade, the Minnesota quarter alone has over a hundred different DDRs if I remember correctly, as well as cent doubled dies for 2004, 2005, dozens for 2006, well over a hundred DDOs and DDRs for the different designs of 2009, a good handful DDOs and DDRs for 2011... a new DDR for the 2010-D cent was just discovered last week.

Anyone who says there isn't many varieties just isn't utilizing their resources. I specialize in cents so that's what I'm most familiar with, but I know there are many, many others for other denominations as well, likely over a thousand different in the last ten years!
