was doing my weekly CRHing and I came across this odd 1996 P kennedy. Anyone know what the deal is? It is VERY proof like (i thought all proofs were marked S) It also doesn't have any brown from copper, so I'm thinking it might be some other metal mixture? It reminds me a lot of canadian coins... here are some pictures.

I'm guessing it's plated.

Is it an S mint mark. Looks proofish from pics, could be 90% proof.

Drop one of the known clad coins onto a counter top and listen to the sound it makes. Then drop the 1996 and listen to it's sound. No clad coin rings like a silver coin. Maybe it was removed from a silver set? Let us know the results.
