Unissued pattern trial of Parliament House...
Hmmm... Guessing here... Value $8-10k?
Hard to say without knowing the condition and not many around to establish past auction results....
One did appear in 2006 -iag auctions, sold for 2600.
Try one of the auction houses, like iag, nobles, downies, etc...

This item is strictly a pattern piece. I have had an example of these in my hand, seen at an auction view day.
About 4 years ago, Jim Noble had one of these up for auction. It had an estimate of $250. I reacted immediately and lodged a proxy bid at $400, then personally attended the auction.
The bidding opened at the estimate, then in a flash rose to $1,600. It was finally sold for $2,200, with 16 1/6% buyer' premium added on.
The basic design is of the Coat Of Arms of Canberra, and has subsequently found it's way (with complete legends) onto the States series 50 cents series, as a circulating coin.
It is anybody's guess what the pattern may bring at auction now, but a track record for this piece has now been established, and is well known in Australian numismatic circles. My guess at a current value would be around $5,000 to $10,000.
Because of the huge price variation the best way of realising the best price for this piece is to auction it. Take it to a leading auction house. Downies, Coinworks or Noble's are who I would recommend. These people are able to expose the coin to buyers that are most likely to have the most money to purchase it in competition.

i bought it I think from jaggars or one of the coin shops about 15 years ago I asked them if they had somthing unusual that mite be worth somthing one day so he sold me this and a run off $5 notes with strange numbers for I think $900 this coin is so lucky we had a house fire about 2 years ago on our farm and lost everthing but this coin was in a old gun safe and the old hot water system had aspetos cover and when it fell over it coverd the old gun safe dead set there was nothing but ashes being in the country it took 1hour and 8 miutes to get the fire trucks here and the only thing we could find was under the old water system so theres a cool story about how lucky it is to even being around soryy for typing in caps I had no idea shane

I would say $900 is a pretty good buy. Lucky coin that one. If you can afford to hold onto it I would. Rare coins like yours seem to have fairly good appreciation.

It's in McDonald's catalogue page 135. Suggests a gEF would get $8,500.
IAG Feb 2006 gEF sold for $2,600 + comm
For such a rarity I don't believe a number could be put on it. Put it in a public auction and see where the bidding takes it.

. Whatever you decide to do with this coin you will not find better advice than the experts at C.C.F. Congrats on a great story, this is what makes numismatics so much fun.!!
