Hello. I have been to the RBC yesterday and asked for the new 20$ notes. I was given 10, which I then entered in the SNDB.

What I found unusual is that I only had 9 sequential notes. The 10th one had a different prefix, block number and was from a different SN range.

These are the ones I found:

BIM 1948177 to BIM 1948185

BIR 5896488 (which came either before or after the sequential notes, unless it was from a different pile, which I don't know)

Could the latter be an insert ?

Possible-20$-Polymer-Insert-?

I would say that the note was most likely from another stack of notes, and just happened to be in with the pile you were given.

BIR is the most common prefix, right now.

Oh sorry, I should've mentionned that the SNDB is the serial number database on http://www.cdnpapermoney.com/sndb/login.php where collectors enter the serial numbers they find in this database.

EDIT: I believe you must create an account to access it, and to create an account you need an email account from an internet service provider such as Shaw, Cogeco, Videotron, Bell.

Looks to me like there is a tremendous amount of smoke billowing out of Parliament. The new "Shrek" note...seems fitting RS, she is a bit of an Ogre.
Rest in Peace
