Hi again,
Can anyone confirm that this is the coin listed in the Krause catalog as East Africa 28.2?
The catalog lists it simply as 'rare'.
If it is, any idea of the value?
Thank you.

I'm afraid I think yours might be the more common #28.1.
Here is yours and a comparison between #28.1 and #28.2. You'll note the leaf is thicker toward the edge on the rarer one and so has less of a curl.

Thanks, Tai-Vic.
I do not doubt your expertise and I welcome your response but am still not 100% convinced.
I have a 28.1 coin and the leaf on that one is definitely thinner than on the possible 28.2.
Also the outer circle of beads on the coin in question is much longer than the 28.1.

Please don't think of me as an expert I'm just as eager to learn as you are.
Now I've done some more research on the web I'm just not convinced of any images of the 28.1 and 28.2 that convince me of any outstanding differences.
I've checked other years of that series and there are subtle variations to be found in many of them.
Leaves and lettering closer to the edge, the rim size, the length of the denticles.
And some on offer on ebay? The price for the "rare" one can vary between $300 and nearly $3,000!
Best of luck and I hope it comes to your advantage.
