Just looks worn to me. There is significant wear on both sides. As far as the misstrike goes the 2008 5c have a strange habit of displaying a double ring on the obverse or reverse. I can think of what causes it but 50% of them have it.

It could be a "drier" coin

A slight chance it might be a partial, tilted, or straight collar so show us some more pictures if you can manage it please.
Close ups of any signs of double rims on both sides, plus a close-up of the reeding as well should be enough.
life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

A partial collar was my first thought but the lack of reeding seems to appear on both edges of the reeding. All the partial collars I have seen only have one half interrupted.

Seems like you have that problem 'pegged'.

LOL I sure Do....I must admit the peg one I stole the Idea, seen someone else do it, so thought why not, it makes it so much easier as holding coin and camera dosnt go down to well with me, would never get a clear shot. Nancy, I acutally put the coin in the money box, when the other guys mentioned they thought it was just wear, but if you want I can still try and find it and get some more photos, but you mentioned only slight chance, so I'm not sure, what do you think

Thanks I will do that, I still do myself have a feeling that its just wear, as I have seen some other older coins the same and they are the same
