I bought some Harris coin folders for Kennedy halves..the only problem is many of the holes don't quite fit a Kennedy. So any idea on how to get them in w/o damaging the coin or breaking my thumbs? :)

I use a heavy piece f cloth folded over and a small heavy object to help press them in, it as far as I can tell does not cause any damage. But I only put circulated in to folders

You could borrow the hammer I'm going to use to smash my scanner if it keeps dying on me

I don't know if anyone would agree with me but in the past I have used a soft piece of wood and placed that on the coin like a chisel and lightly tapped it with a hammer.

But then again I was 12 at the time.

I use a well circulated coin first a few times to size the hole before putting the coin I want in the hole in it !! (say that three times real fast ) LOL

anyways ,it beat putting finger prints all over the coin that is going to stay in the hole !!

Just do as metalman suggested, I have done this many times in a few days your nice example of the coin you would like to put in that hole will fit just fine.

That's why they're called "thumb-busters." Next time get the Dansco albums, they cost a bit more but they're worth it. Not only is it easier to get your coins in the holes, they will be better protected.

Like TSmith3510 said, get the Dansco next time. I really like the Dansco albums and I think they are well worth the premium price.
