Quote: Was the 1912 $5 the first to be sold-out? If I recall correctly, the $5 1912 HS did sell out first, the day after release.

Jerry_B, you have to remember that gold struck for circulation is a different animal for grading, due to softness of the metal.
Your coin is most certainly mint state, looks MS-62 to me.

Thanks, SPP-Ottawa. Other than pictures, today is the first time that I've seen one of these in person. :)

So after seeing that some people recv'd their gold coins I checked the mint site and my order was 'CANCELED'....I immediately sent them an email because I couldn't be bothered to sit on hold for 30 mins while I was at work and they pleasantly replied "Part of your order was indeed cancelled by mistake, but the items that were cancelled were re-ordered"
Although it sounds like I'm going to get my coins, I am still a little worried. I work in sales and order entry is one of my primary duties, still I don't understand how stuff like this happens.

CC-Ottawa: Thanks! They do look pretty good up close, but as Silveroid pointed out I couldn't really focus in the way Jerry_B could on his. LOL- I also couldn't figure out how to post the pics properly on this forum... so I just gave up. MoneyPenny: I am keeping a complete set for myself, so two of them will be for sale. I pre-sold a 1914 $5 for almost $1,000 on ebay a few months ago... so being this is the rarest of the $5 releases I expect to get roughly the same. I also have a small list of people who wanted a "heads up" when I received them and decided to sell so I will be going down that list sometime this week. Either way, they are super cool and if I don't get the price I'm looking for then I will just hold on to them.

BTW- if anyone is interested in being added to my list for the 1912-1914 gold coins then you can get my email through my profile.

I spoke with a Mint rep this morning. The Mint has only shipped out the 1912 $5 Gold coins ONLY. No other years have been shipped out. She said, most likely by the end of the month.

I ordered 1 of each. I'm guessing mine didn't ship then because it's with the other years.

I ordered 1 of each of the $5 coins. I hope they split them up.
