Bank Of Canada 1912-14 Gold Coin Special RCM Release

Now, I am not anything remotely resembling a coin expert. This is a new hobby for me. But my untrained eye tells me the second 1914 (I posted above) is a better grade than the first, because of the gouges the first 1914 has in a few areas (nose, bow, etc) but out of all the coins, the 1913 coin I have seems to be the cleanest and most pristine. The 1912's obverse details also seem to be the most "worn" (or perhaps being the first year of the strike, the dies weren't striking good enough yet?). You can notice these things in the king's moustache.

Am I off?

Second, I am concerned about one of the 1914s; it didn't travel well and was almost completely out of the foam core it sits in; plus, the hologram seal on one side of the casing was cracked because the casing was slightly ajar on one side; because of this, I opened up that one coin and repositioned the coin so it was sitting properly in its foam holder. What 'damage" did I do to the coin by doing this?

For fun, I shot the "bow" on the back of the king on each of the coins. Apologies for some dust that showed up on one of them (on the plastic casing of the 1913).

Almost looks like a die crack on both of the obverse of the 1914's.
Running from DEI GRA and ending at the R in Rex.
I know they are two different obverses however those lines in the pictures are identicle.

Are your coins Hand Select or Premium Hand Select?

Hi DarrylDarryl - these coins are all the hand selected. Yeah, I noticed the crack along the DEI GRA part of the 1914s as well.

I do have a call into the RCM regarding the one loose 1914 I got. I'm mainly concerned about the hologram, less so about the coin being damaged by being loose. They had to kick my call upstairs, as it were, and will be calling me back tomorrow.

Does anyone want to speculate on how much additional value the sealed holograms on the side would add to the value of these coins? Anyone care to take a guess as to the rating for each of the coins I got?

I just opened my 1913 & 1914 Premium Select $10. Both are way nicer than the HS $5 with the same original lustre, but far less baggy than the $5's. I don't have anything higher than an AU 50 to compare them to, but both are far superior, and are more in the range of a MS 63 coin, with the 1914 being even nicer than the 1913.
