Both HS and PHS $10 1913 and 1914 are showing as available to me?

Of course there were 3.75 times more 1914s PHS released than there were 1913s so I'd expect the '13s to sell out first.

I think it might take a steep increase in gold spot to get sales moving on the remaining BoC hoard. Either that, or they may liquidate them to dealers at a discount.

Very true. But, the flip side is the supply. There a 5000 of the first splotch, and 10000 of the second. Compare that to 100,000 of something 100 years old, but much still in near mint state because it is gold.

Most of these early gold coins are like 1976 silver and gold. Large amounts made. Most still around. Thought of as bullion.

Now, the melting of 200,000 will be interesting.

So, they are planning to melt 30% of the coins ever made. That's pretty significant. But, still 450,000 are probably still out there.

And, it sure would be useful to know what the date and denomination counts are for those to be melted. That information would seem to be something we have a right to know.

I don't think they were ever heavily circulated. And, I think most were held as a gold backstop by banks. They were withdrawn from circulation in WWI when Canada briefly went off the gold standard. That is why the hoard exists. But, what about the others?

450,000 isn't much. They used to make over 500,000 NCLT silver dollars a year (1970s).

And, when the US confiscated their citizens gold coins. Did they steal the Canadian ones too?

Regarding the fate of the unmelted coins, does anyone have the pop reports from ICCS or PCGS as a reference? Due to possible fakes, I guessing that a larger ratio might be in certified holders after all these years....

Cookiecutter, the web info isn't always up-to-date, so I wouldn't be worried about it.

I probably will get my coin. I'm just a bit anxious as this is my first big coin purchase. I've never spent this much on a coin before.

Just got back from downtown Vancouver where the RCM has a boutique shop....they had their supply of coins arrive this morning, including some PS $5, but those quickly went. By the time it got to me, they had NO $5 left, 2 PS $1913 $10, 2 PS 1914 $10 and 5 HS $10.....I took a look at all 4 PS $10's, but only chose one. They even had some 1912 HS $10 at the beginning...
