BTW, proof is a method of making the coin so it may look proof all day long but if it is not manufactured as a proof, it will not be a proof. HOWEVER NCG did note that it is DPL which means it is proof like (I can't remember if DPL is deep-mirror proof like).

that is stunning and I'm looking through his other auctions he wants 3 grand for a toned ms 63 generic morgan. I looked up that double egale on ngc it is the highest graded and the only dmpl

Looks like this same coin was sold by Heritage in 2008 for $126,500. At that time it was in a different NGC holder; maybe it was broken out and resubmitted in hopes of a higher grade, or else the owner wanted it housed in a new holder with "edge view" feature. The new holder has the same grade as in the 2008 sale (MS64* DPL). The current seller has copied the identical description text from the Heritage listing.
Spectacular coin indeed, but is it worth $258,500 more that what it sold for just 4 years ago? Might be some room for negotiation....
