Im trying to figure out if these are small dates I have about 20 that I have found over the years and just kept and these 2 seem a little different as far as the date between the 9 and the 7....any info would be appreciated thanks

First pic: Small Date
Second pic: Large Date
IMO

The 7 in the Small Date is level with the other numbers in the date.

The 7 in the Large Date is lower than the other numbers in the date.

Someone here (Coop ?) has a very nice pic that clearly illustrates the differences.

Both of them are Large Dates, the curl of the 9 is squared off and points to the base of the 7. The curl of the 9 on a Small Date is pointed and aimed at the middle of the upright of the 7. Large Dates also have a crease between the vertical and horizontal bars of the 7, that crease is absent on a Small Date. The first picture does not illustrate it because the 7 took a hit in that spot. Those two diagnostics are much more accurate than the "level date" that seems to do nothing but create confusion.

Both are large dates.
Sometimes these get confusing when the dates are angled.
