I have had 100 veiws with no reponses...patience is a virtue. Looks like a Greaser. The rim is pretty high so you would think if it was wear the rim wouldn't be worn like the devices. This makes in a Grease Filled Die to me.

My first thought was that it was some sort of corrosion due to a chemical reaction, but if that were the case the corrosion should be even across the coin. There appear to be some places, such as the braid, that are sharper than the others.

Maybe it's just an incredibly poor strike.

The rolled-up appearance of the rim and the mushy details to me make it look like a dryer coin-a coin that tumbled around in a commercial dryer for a long while.
