Hello all, First time poster though not the last. I'd very much appreciate views on this 1913-S Gold Indian Head $10. Regards, /swede

Born in the states. Raised in Minnesota on a 3rd generation Swedish family farm.
Great Grandfather was the head of the Royal Guard for King Oscar and Great Grandmother was the head seamstress before coming over.
Cool story I guess. :)

Welcome to Coin Community, swede. Two very nice Indian Eagles from new posters in the same day - pretty good haul for CCF. Yours looks to me to have just the barest bit of circulation. If I'm correct, we'll call it AU58 and a value of a little over $1000.

Your coin is a 1916 not 1913.

Thanks so much. TBH these pics, now that I look again, are very dark.
I will re-shoot tonight with a much better camera and re-post.

Yes, it is a 1916-S. I was lazy and copied the headline from the other poster today. It was just to easy.

Nice coin with very nice luster (especially at the lower reverse) and minimal marks. Looks like a shallow scratch by the eagle's beak which could hurt the eye appeal a bit. I agree it has seen just enough handling to dull the fields slightly which makes it a technical AU-58. However, I have seen similar pieces sneak into MS-61 holders. The value really takes off at MS-63 but unfortunately this one won't quite make that mark.
Excellent type coin. Love those Indian eagles!

My guess would be it grades AU-58 but a TPG could allow it to grade MS. A very nice coin!

Nice coin. I agree with everyone that this is an AU/MS slider. This is a slightly better date but the higher values don't take hold until AU58 and above. I'd grade it AU58 and value it at $1100 retail.
