They only reason I can see for a possible neg is the fact that he outright lied to you when he said it was going to cost him every bit of $14 to ship them and then shipped them for just over $7. He did everything his auction said, and he was under no obligation to combine the shipping, but he should not have lied to you about it.

Sounds like this seller should research flat rate boxes.

I think it would be pretty inconsiderate to give neutral or negative feedback to this seller. You don't know that he lied to you because you can not know all of the circumstances that were involved in shipping your item. When you bid on his items, you obviously felt like his shipping rates were reasonable. I personally can't even really understand why so many of you think that this seller needs to be blacklisted and that you would never purchase from him. If he didn't state combine shipping in the listing then you better consider that that is not a possibility unless you specifically clarify otherwise with the seller. The problem here is with the buyer not completing due diligence in understanding the full terms of the sale before purchasing.

No negative or neutral feedback is required. Don't confuse shipping with postage. There is more to shipping than postage costs. He was upfront, although the email about the $1 was uncalled for.

Actually if the seller is printing and prepaying postage using ebay's postage system (since the OP said the postage cost wasn't hiden) then there is no trip to the PO necessary. His postal person will pick it up when they deliver his mail. I love that system, since it not only avoids a trip but the standing in long lines too, as well as prepaying is usually cheaper than in person mailing. As far as ebay is concerned: Sure they encourage "handling fees" since they and PayPal also rake in fees on those mailing charges. I always combine postage and state so in my auctions. My only "handling fee" is a bump enough to cover those blasted ebay and PayPal fees on postage charges. I don't care to eat postage costs. They didn't use to charge fees on postage until those wise- *** Edited by Staff | The bad word filter is in place for a reason. Bypassing the filter and making the intended word obvious anyway is completely unacceptable. *** sellers began selling items for 99ยข with a $20 shipping fee to avoid paying an actual FVF. Customers didn't care because if an item was worth $20.99 to them, it didn't matter if the total was for postage or otherwise. That's how I as a buyer calculate my best ebay bid - what I am willing to pay for the item INCLUDING postage.

I get it I think I will just leave no feedback. I was only upset because his lie was so obvious. I am tempted to copy and paste the emails he and I exchanged but I don't want to pursue this any further.
End of story, the coins are excellent and were delivered on time. Maybe next time just say " no,I do not combine shipping"
Anyway thanks for the help

I would ask the seller what he wanted you to do and copy paste the email he sent telling you shipping was 15 and then a pic of the box showing it only cost 7.00!

Positive feedback but I would probably give only two stars in the "Shipping Cost" DSR.

Life is too short. Don't leave feedback if that is your decision and let it go. Then enjoy your coins!

I would leave a neutral, and state that the shipping was "inflexible." I have NEVER heard of someone who wouldn't combine shipping on ANY set of multiple items--and I just bought some heavy crystalware off the Bay for Christmas. Even then, the seller threw the weights onto FedEx (no USPS for crystal dinnerware . . . PLEASE!) and figured out he could save me seven bucks on shipping by sending the two auctions together, even though he could easily have tacked that $7 on as a handling charge.
To me this sounds . . . . maybe not like "highway robbery" given that the terms were stated, but certainly discourteous and DISASTROUS business sense.

I cant believe I have to say this after everything that has already been stated but... Do not confuse what the seller SHOULD HAVE done or COULD HAVE done differently. That is irrelevant and has no bearing on the events related to this transaction. Several posters have proved that the seller fulfilled his terms of the sale in accordance with his listing as well as ebay's policies. What more needs to be said?

I wouldn't shoot myself in the foot. If you were happy with the coins, then lesson learned. Positive all the way

I ended leaving two positives but stating in both feedbacks that the seller was very dishonest about the cost of shipping and out right lied to me about it.
Mods please close this topic as it has been solved.
Thank you
