SsuperDdave Moderator United States 23522 Posts	Posted 12/25/2012 04:03 am Unless it's weakly-struck, I'm going to opine that it's seen the slightest bit of wear and says AU55 on the slab. There's a missing demarcation on the hair over the ear, and maybe the beginnings of wear on the wingtips. Report this Post to the Staff

Jaobler Pillar of the Community United States 6417 Posts	Posted 12/26/2012 1:57 pm This coin persists in imaging with a pinkish hue; the real color is a shiny golden yellow and its cleaned status is revealed by the near-total lack of cartwheel luster. Detail-wise I agree it's an easy AU-55, with just the slightest trace of rub. Too bad somebody just had to "improve" it. But, anytime I can get a no-motto half eagle for bullion price I'm OK with it! BH1964 Bedrock of the Community United States 10982 Posts	Posted 12/26/2012 6:00 pm One of those "light cleanings" that sometimes are deemed Market Acceptable and other times are bagged.
