I am sorry. In my oppinion I would view it as a variety but maybe the rest of you wouldnt. It is probably because I am a bit to wide on florin varieties. The thing is I am aiming to build the best quality florin collection ever built with as many varieties as possible major to minor ones. Laugh if you want but this is my aim for my collection.

nobody is laughing mate, coins are a serious thing to us and the way we collect is a personal thing. I admire your choice, Florins are the hardest pre decimals to get in great nick. If you don't have a 1942s with the "S" that far out of position pm me and I will send it to you

Thank you trout but no thank you I find one of the best pleasures of coin collecting is finding a great coin where you least expect it. I mean there is nothing that can beat the thrill of finding a variety that has been misattributed as just a regular coin. The Americans seem to love their varieties anyway I think they call them VAMS personally I have no idea what it stands for.

No worries Mate. I also have no idea about VAMS but I will bet you one of our US cousins that collect Morgans will soon enlighten us I have noticed on the Canberra florins that there are diferent die states that show up as die cracks and step definition, maybe I can call the CAMS

I reckon CAMS is pretty spot on Trout! Low step count 25/65, medium steps 30/70, 3 step stunner 40/80. (Excuse the old fart rev head coming out there).

VAM number - Unique number assigned to each die combination of Morgan and Peace dollar known to the authors of The Complete Catalog and Encyclopedia of United States Morgan and Peace Silver Dollars. Called VAM because of the authors Leroy Van Allen and A. George Mallis.

I recon CAMS is cool, with the proofs we could call em double overheads, double overheads with turbo and the tops we could call double overheads with a supercharger + nitro. We all love em big blocks
