Never heard of him or the shop..however can see his name on the valuation cert describing himself as an expert. He is not part of Anda either from what I can see. Could not find anything on the web about the secret chest either.

There was a similar con back in the late 1960's,altered date 1923's advertised in Australian Capital cities Newspapers with a certificate stating the coin was genuine. The certificate was genuine but the seller substituted another coin to the one the dealer inspected.

I don't think it's a Brisbane Ph number, certainly Qld, but not sure exactly where.

According to Wikipedia the phone number is Toowoomba/Roma or somewhere else in South West Queensland.

I sent the seller a message
The coin pictured is an altered date fake,it is being discussed on a few coin forums around the country, just wondering who the dealer is that supplied the certificate of valuation ? Cheers Peter.
His answer
Hi, If you enlarge and read the certificate, all details are on there. I have had it for over ten years, I know the guy that I got it from and can show province back to 1970's. I know they have spoken about it on other forums but they are wrong. I don't want anyone to bid if not sure. Thanks
So we are all wrong & we can't possibly know what we are talking about LOL.

One of the most dodgy altered date '23's I have seen in quite some while!

What I find amusing is that the issuer of the tacky valuation "certificate" seems to share the same name as the ebay account of the seller, replete with contact details.
