Whilst some of my impulse buys out of my area of knowledge (Canadian and Chinese) have not always been wise, these two coins are quite special. Both are well into MS, probably 63 and 65 and were bought very reasonably. I will be sending them with others to NGC upon arrival, which I hope is before my retirement in 20 years! Enjoy...marbury

Nice finds, I like especially the die breaks on the 1886 one.

Definitely mint state, although quite frankly I couldn't care less which grade they would get assigned in a "Snow White's coffin"

Re grading, I would need them graded in order to sell when the times comes. Stacks Bowers just sold the 1894 in MS65 for 630 bucks. In order to tell if they are real, look for the dragons teeth. These can be found halfway along the base of the Cap. This was done as counterfeiters found it difficult to replicate. Think they brought that in 1867.

Can we have the edge pictures to appreciate your coins, marbury? It is seldom to have such a high grade coin and then its edge pictures seen. Henry

Very nice finds. They are certainly beautiful in this state of preservation.

Real in my opinion. The 1886 is a bit weak as a result of the die displacement due to the cracks. Could be an issue when grading.
