The coin was partially pressed in a vice, the 'teeth' of the vise jaws have been imparted onto the coin (i.e., post mint damage).

Your coin is worth exactly two dollars.

I think the vice explanation is probably correct. Same on both sides, like it was being held in the grip.

See photo of quick google search for vice image.

to the CCF. It's definitely PMD whether caused by actual vise jaws or something else... it was definitely squeezed between something

I don't think you will find anyone here to validate your ridiculous ebay listing.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/221174853095

What possible element of the collar die or obverse and reverse dies, or a blank planchet, could possibly impart that image on both sides of that coin?

At least four very knowledgeable collectors of errors have all given you a perfectly reasonable answer that you cannot accept. Why not? Because you know how the collar die and ejection process works for two-dollar strikes more than the error collecting community? Hardly, because if you really knew errors, then you would know the definition of a 'mule' and how it applies to numismatics (cf., title of your thread).

Yes, it has been one of those days at work...

I have emailed you via your ebay listing, I have also reported it to ebay.
You asked about this coin here and was given a definite assessment by eminent error experts.
You chose to ignore the fact that this is simply a PMD issue and listed this for $500 on ebay.

NO I didn't have a bad day at work, I am always this honest and tactless when it comes to ebay scammers

No, you don't have 'nothing.' You have either an interesting conversation piece, or two dollars.
However, you certainly don't have a mint error. It is completely impossible for an error like that to exist. The vice teeth shown in Canuck's picture fit the bill. You can get a smaller vice, I'm sure. Maybe even pliers?

Why is it a private listing? Doesn't that stop most buyers from bidding on it?
Not that it matters, it'll be gone soon anyway. Report this listing, IT'S A FAKE!
