That's not a bad set of Indian cents you have there. Assuming there are at least Good (G4) condition the set you have as seen is about $450-500 dollars. The 1872 is valuable, and if it grades better than G4 it could be the most valuable coin you have posted pics for. As someone else mentioned, the old board it's in can be worth something too.
You should try to post some better close-up pics for the Indian cents, especially for the following:
- 1858LL
- 1864 bronze
- 1867
- 1872
- 1886
- 1888
- 1894

Your pic is cut-off at the bottom. Are there dates for 1909 and 1909-S?

I have one of those boards, the bottom row does contain spaces for the 1908s and the 1909s, looks like his set has the 1908s but is missing the 1909s. Take a good picture of the 1908s (make sure it has an "s" on the bottom on the back), that is a key date and worth from $80 on up depending on condition.

Welcome Sb

i would recommend not selling and using your new found collection as a spring board into this wonderful world
secondly, I would get the mrs. to agree to a monthly budget that is allocated towards the purchase of even more coins...

Rest in Peace

Does the 1882 have a CC on the back?

In that holder it would have to have the CC.

Appreciate everyone's input. Will definitely be hanging on to the collection, and slowly add to it.

I will post some more of the things I found tomorrow when I have more time. Thanks again.

Conder, I asked because I've seen the cc taken out and a normal Morgan put in its place and without seeing the back I didn't know

If the rest of the coins are like what you have posted then you have a great start to collecting different series. Try to convince your wife to collect them or at least let you collect them

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but buy a Red Book and read it. It will help greatly. Good luck and welcome.

Welcome aboard, Sbgreene! I humbly suggest that you seek out an area coin club so as to gain knowledge about coin grading and pricing.

The 1882-CC should ideally be in an original box with paper insert to command a better price when sold. If you have the box, keep the coin therein. In November, I acquired an 1882-CC at a show, 62ish, for $170 in the box. That was a wholesale price, mind you.

IMHO, the $400+ estimate on the Indians seems high - high retail. Sellers need to realize that coin shops have a hefty overhead; nowadays, in particular. At shows, coins can more easily be purchased at 10-20% under bid or graysheet prices.

These were also with the coins I found. Some of the books had coins in them already. Any story on these blue collecting books?

The blue coin boards are from Whitman publishing company, very common, they were the spring-board for many into coin collecting. The Whitman boards are not the best storage for rare coins as they leave coins exposed to hands, paper, environment, humidity, etc. The Dansco albums are more modern and allow both sides of the coin to be seen. I use 2x2 coin flips and plastic pages in 3-ring binders myself.

and a Nice group of coins your Dad left you!
