I bought some NGC and PCGS PF70's yesterday from Silvertowne and my Mint shipped proofs will be at my door on Monday...
It took me many years to realize that it is actually cheaper to buy already graded new issue 70's from online dealers than to get the coins graded myself...and they are guaranteed to be all 70's.... AND I get them MUCH sooner than when I send them to be graded

Thanks. Dave

It's just my opinion but I try and stick to the NGC blue label Early Release 70's and the PCGS Flag FS 70's because if someone is collecting a complete series they might want to have that series all have the same type labels. Not a big factor but just my choice and I do have some SF sets with different labels from both companies. RE: grading service choice. If I am sending in coins to be graded then it will be NGC because of cost and consistency of grading standards (MY OPINION ONLY). If I am buying new issue coins AND both are the same price then I will go PCGS (or in this case both) because of their perceived increased value. If NGC is significantly lower then I will go with them. NGC also has an easier to use grade guarantee in the case of milk spotting of the ASE 70's...a BIG plus

Getting my 2013 ASE proof along w/my first Panda coin - (just want one for contrast of the ASE) Also picked up a silver Maple Leaf, Kookaburra, Koala, Libertad - all proofs - a worldwide smattering. Why no silver Krugerrands? :/

Quote: I like the little plush boxes The boxes are cool but only when they have a coin in them...It doesn't work with a slab outside of the box The Annie set boxes at least serve as a nice display forum for those slabbed coins but the yearly proof ASE boxes just sit in a big box in my cellar...

I received my 2 proof ASEs on Saturday. The coins looked perfect to me ( the naked eye ), need to take some time and view them with the 10x. Waiting on a couple of graded bullion 70s to show up in my mailbox now.........

I just opened my box of 5 proofs and what a difference from the S proofs of last year....all 5 are flawless and if I hadn't already pre-ordered my 70's I would have strong confidence about submitting these for grading
Nice job West Point
