Got an email tonight from the U.S. Mint that states: Quote: The United States Mint will be processing your subscription order for the 2013 American Eagle Silver Proof Coin in approximately 1 week. Woo! Kind of excited about that! And the new year of the U.S. Mint draining my bank account begins...

That's exciting, CelticKnot. I love that coin. Maybe this year I will get a reverse proof. How about you?

Have they stated they'll be making a reverse proof ASE this year? I got the same email, btw - my subscription consists of the proof ASE, mint proof set & silver proof set. So as not to empty my bank acct. - lol

Very nice! So, will you be the first to receive the 2013 ASE proof and post pictures?

@jbuck - I doubt I'll be fast enough on the draw to post the first pictures, but I'll sure try. @zookr - I believe there will be a reverse proof in the West Point two coin ASE set that is scheduled for release later on in 2013 (May-June), but I don't recall seeing a separate issue of reverse proof as a product by itself.

I love the proof ASE, it is such a classic coin, the staple of American numismatics. I buy nearly a roll of the bullion ASE every year, but only have a handful of the proofs, so one of my collecting goals this year is to beef up my proof ASE set. Can't wait for the 24th! I'm in for at least two, maybe more later.

I received the same email, I have 2 proofs coming in the near future. I have every proof ASE except for the 1995 -W. Not sure I will ever have a full collection.

I guess the Mint now know how to drain our bank account with their various release of ASE. They only need to vary the mint mark and you get an instant seller product. I only consider individually packaged Proof ASE as part of my running set (still working on it), all other coins will fall into a category I called "Special/Commemorative Set". Now, if the Mint keep up with it yearly 2 coins set then I guess I have to change the category's name.....

My two subscription orders went on the books yesterday, the 18th and they say backordered, with 2/3 expected ship date. I received an email order summary for the first order that states a 2/2 ship date.

Could be interesting and will you get it? They sent the emails out and then announced they were suspending silver eagle production because of high demand. Remember in 2009 it was the high demand that caused them to not produce the proofs.
