Hello Everybody I apologize if this has been brought up but my search of "whitman" and "dansco" did not seem to find a recommended supplier. I'm really looking for an album or folder 1959 - 2012 for Lincoln Cents. At this point a folder would be fine as I am just using it as a side project to keep me interested as I sort copper. Looking to buy maybe 1-10 right now depending on price. I've searched ebay but I can't seem to find something to work. Any suggestions would be great and I don't trust anything I find from a regular internet search. I'd prefer to hear where to go from this forum. Thanks Mike

On place to look is Hobby Lobby although it's hit-n-miss with what they have in the store but they do have coupons on their web site so you can get a good deal sometimes. Just a thought. John1

I've been looking for the Dansco 7070 and can't find one at a reasonable price. They are going for way too much money on ebay.

Try a local coin store if you have one in the area. Sometimes thay have used ones for practically nothing. IF you can find a coin show, go to them. At almost all coin shows there are dealers that sell coin Folders and Albums. One thing I do is ask at coin shows what dealers do with Albums and Folders they take in. Most tell me they throw them away since they only want the coins. I've received vertually many hundreds of them free that way. As an idea try the http://www.whitmanbooks.com web site. Request a catalog. They have many Folders for under $4 but the shipping will really make you ill.

I don't think you can buy a Dansco 7070 right now, they're being updated. That's why the premium prices on ebay if you can find one.

Hobby Lobby is a fair option but they don't carry Danscos... just Whitman Classics and one or two other brands. And they don't even carry all the Whitmans albums. I think I've cleaned them out as much as I'm going to be able to. Had to order the 2 Whitman Kennedy albums from ebay because HL doesn't carry. Nice thing with HL is you can browse to their web site on your smart phone and get a 40% one item coupon every time you go to the store.... which helps a lot when you're buying 10 $20-25 albums. As justcarl mentioned, another place to check is your local coin shop. They may purchase sets/folders/albums, break them up to sell individually, then they'll sell the albums/folders at discounted rates (though they are used, of course). You can generally get them cheap because of that though. I've gotten a few Dansco's for under $10 that way.

Places like Hobby Lobby wouldn't know if you went there 10 times a day for 1,000,000 days. Most such places don't know or care who you are. A local coin or hobby store needs regular or steady customers. It pays to make a steady customer.

I agree with supporting local coin stores (local stores/proprietors in general) and I absolutely do. But I also like to save money when possible in this (what can be) very expensive hobby. And I spend plenty with my local guys. :) And I would prefer to buy my albums from them but they don't always have them.
