I have 6 silver mexican bullion coins ranging in date from the 20's and 60's I think. I've attached two pictures. I was wondering if anyone has an idea of their worth. I sold one ebay 2 weeks ago and got $9.00 including shipping. I know they are 720 silver but an idea of their value would be appreciated. Here are the pics and you can see the dates on them:

5 of those 1 Peso coins are pretty inexpensive, since they are billon - only .100 silver. I've seen a number of them in dealers' 3/$1 boxes. The 1926 Peso, on the other hand, is .720 silver and cost is around $7-$15.

I like the those billon coins, since they all tone differently. I have one that toned pink and the best part it only cost me $3:

Hi Sleaklight

The first coin from the left is a cap and rays libertad 720 silver coin ,, these are much like any other coin in that there are key dates and common dates,, the common dates range in value from about 8 dollars to 15.00 maybe a bit more depending on the coin ,, the Key dates are very much more expensive.

the Morelos peso coins which are from there over are 0.1000 silver ard can be found in BU for around $6 to 8.00 with the exception of the 1957.

Mexico is my primary focus - War of Independence, more specifically. There is a certain beauty to the crude coinage of that era:

Durango 1812:

Durango 1815:

Morelos & Chilpaz counter-stamps on 1809 Cast 8 Reales:

Guadalajara 1815 variety:

Fascinating time period, full of uncertainty and turmoil...

Here are the scans of the 50 centavos. Any guess on their value? The dates are:
7 - 1943 and 3 - 1944
Thanks!

I'm not big on modern coins, but I think in the 40s they were cranking these out as bullion. It's .720 silver, so whatever that adds-up to...

sleaklight,,

Thats not 7.2 ounces of silver thats 72% silver per coin ,,each one of the cap and rays has .3856 ASW

per coin,, the Morelos peso's contain.0541 ASW per coin.

if your asking for recommendations about selling them, I agree with TwoKopeiki bulk lot.

Boy I love these coins. How lately hve you seen the Morelos pesos at 3/1.00. That's a good deal for the silver alone. The wear seems similar to the War Nickels to me in appearance. I have one that kind of appears like some sheen is flaking off. Has anyone else seen this. Was there a higher content silver plating over the .1 silver coin to make it have a silver sheen? I also agree about the copper coins. Mexican coins just have a sheen like no other when in BU.
