Ok so my local coin shop has one and I really like the look of it but what caused it to have the look of teeth? How many we're produced? And what is a approximate value for a ms-62? My local coin store is selling it for $70 but I found one elsewhere for $25 so is that a good deal?

I have read that it is estimated that 1% to 2% of the mintage had the clash - I can't remember the source, though. I have seen alot of them on ebay and teletrade certified so you can gather an idea of what they are going for now. I am sure the TPGs have numbers published as well.

Well, a regular MS62 lists at a retail of around 33 bucks. So I would say the one at 25 is likely not a Bugs. A nice 62 Bugs I would pay 50-60 bucks.
As to how. It is a die clash. Occasionally, the dies come together without a planchet making it between them. When that happens, the dies clash together and often times transfer characteristics to the other die. The subsequent coins minted with those dies will get those shadows transferred to them. Eventually the clash marks wear off of the dies and the effect goes away.
There is no way to know exactly how many Frankies got Bugsed, but that is how.

Looks like you found a strong example - I have seen them much less pronounced. IMHO the cheek is a bit distracting but those teeth are very pronounced. Enjoy!

I dont see the teeth you speak of. It could be because I'm on a phone tho. And is 1955 the only year that this variety exists?

It's pretty prominent in the picture. These were other dates that had it as well,

This clash is also known on 1951, 1952, 1952, 1953, 1954 and 1956's. It is most common on the 1955.

The Bugs Bunny die clash mint error is a heavily promoted "variety". It's not actually a variety at all based on CONECA standards. You can find them throughout the series. I'd stick with finding nice examples of Franklins MS-66s - and leave this particular type of coin to the silly rabbits.

I'm with Golden, are the teeth we speak of on the cheek below and left of the eye? Can someone please point this out, thank you.

I have cropped the OP's picture a bit. It is by the mouth where they say it looks like Bugs Bunny's teeth. You can see sharp protrusions from the lip area. Personally I think they look like a vampire but I don't think 1955 Franklin Vamp would sell quite as well

I'm with cc99999. This coin is one that if I "found" it I would sell it to someone who cares. Kind of unattractive IMO

I think $70.00 is quite steep for that particular coin. Cherry pick some mint sets if you can. I have found 3 over the years in nice BU and one Gem. All 55's. Sold them for $50.00 to $55.00 ea.

I bought this one last spring from my local coin shop - 25.00 I believe (might have been 30.00): I think you might be able to do a lot better than the price he is offering you.
