Wow! Probably an extreme example of a Dryer Coin. I've never seen one worn quite this much though!

@pennysaver, is a Dryer Coin just what the names suggests? (coin thats been through the dryer?)

Hi Noah

That's right. It usually comes out of a laundromat dryer, where the coin got stuck in behind the main drum and just tumbled and slid around for a year or so as people did their laundry. Some people collect them for novelty's sake, but they generally don't carry any premium. Saying that, I'd like to have one myself just for the sake of having one!

If there was one thing I should have for my collection that I don't, it would be a scale. I have a standar electronic kitchen one for spaghetti etc. which I use to measue the weight of my packages, but I doubt a rounded weight would help...could be wrong though...

Okay, checked the weight. The kitchen scale reads 4g for the above coin as opposed to 5g for a regular coin from that era.
